Tissue Salt Preparation and their Potency (D6/D12)

Because Schuessler was a Homeopath, he prepared the Tissue Salts similarly to Homeopathic practice in order to make the minerals in minute doses so that they can easily be absorbed by the body.

Tissue Salts are traditionally prepared by grinding the starting mineral in a special process known as trituration. This potency is prepared by mixing one part mineral compound to nine parts lactose (milk sugar). The mixture is then very thoroughly ground. Next, one part of this ground compound is again mixed with nine parts milk sugar, and thoroughly ground. This process is repeated six times for a 6X potency (sixth decimal preparation = D6), and twelve times for a 12X potency (twelfth decimal preparation = D12).

The D6 strength is the Standard Potency for almost all Tissue Salts. It is found in 9 of the 12 Tissue Salts and is the most used potency and is related to the minerals that are water soluble in nature.
The D12 strength is used in 3 of the 12 micronutrient minerals as well as the 15 additional minerals, which are not water soluble in nature.

These prolonged processes are absolutely essential in order to secure the full biochemical activity and extreme fineness of these vital cell foods, which are thereby reduced practically into molecular form. These "micro-doses" are readily assimilated and are absorbed almost immediately to nourish the countless millions of tiny, living cells of the human system.
