Silica is the main constituent of hair, skin, nails, bone, spinal cord, nerve sheaths/fibres, blood, and connective tissues covering the brain. And is also a major element of the mucous membranes and connective tissue.

Silica has a deep slow long-lasting effect in the body

Deficiencies of Silica is indicated for all injuries and slow-healing wounds and whenever there is:

• Poor skin conditions - Silica ripens infections and eliminate them through the surface. It is useful for spots, pimples, acne, boils, abscesses, cysts, styes, mouth ulcers, gumboils on the jaw, festering sores, and/or yellow discharge from nose
• Brittle nails and poor hair condition – Silica supports bone structure and connective tissues. When it is lacking, the nails, hair and bones may become weak
• Rheumatic / arthritic symptoms – Silica dissolves urates which collect within the joints
• Toothache - it acts as a nerve insulator for acute pain
• Excessive or suppressed perspiration can also be restored to normal eg: dry feet / smelly feet, offensive perspiration odour, night sweats

Signs of Deficiency:

• Unhealthy skin - spots, pimples, boils, abscesses, boils, or styes
• Poor hair condition eg: – Dry and brittle hair, losing hair
• Nail biting - poor nail conditions eg: cracked, brittle or split nails
• Wrinkles and crow’s feet (Silica is called the Beauty / Anti-aging remedy

Recomendations:

Tissue Salts can be used on their own or in recommended combinations to balance and restore a variety of deficiencies.

• For brittle nails, use No.12 Silica in alternation with No. 7 Kali Sulph
• Taking silica after surgery helps minimize scar formation, and it is helpful for all septic conditions. It can assist the body to expel foreign objects such as splinters

Caution:
Silica shouldn't be used for long periods by those with any type of implant since one of Silica’s effects is to promote expulsion of foreign matter from the body
