Directions

Directions for taking Tissue salts in Powder or Tablet form – internally and externally. The timing, the frequency and the recommended dose size for adults, children and infants as well the possible initial reactions to Tissue Salts and when caution should be taken are explained below:

The standard single dose for tablets is:

Adults3-4 tablets
Children2 tablets
Infants1 tablet

The standard dose for powder is:

Adults1 teaspoon
Children¾ teaspoon
Infants½ teaspoon

For the newcomer to Tissue Salts, it is recommended that you start taking Tissue Salts gradually and increase the dose after 3 days to the full dose depending on the body’s reaction.

For example - safe dosages for powders to start with are:

Adults

1 teaspoon (5ml) once a day and increase to 3 teaspoons (15ml) a day over a three week period; then continue with 3 teaspoons a day or follow practitioners instructions.

Children 6 years and upwards

One teaspoon (5ml) once a day and increase to 3 teaspoons (15ml) a day over a three week period; then continue with 3 teaspoons a day.

Toddlers to 6yrs of age

Use ¾ teaspoon (3.75ml) directly into the mouth or in a little water on a spoon and give it to them; Do this for three days then increase the dosage to ¾ teaspoon (3.75ml) three times a day over a three week period or follow practitioner’s instructions.

Infants

Use ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) once a day directly onto their gums or mix in a little breast milk /water on a spoon or add to their milk; Do this for 3 days, then increase the dosage to ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) 3 times a day over a three week period or follow practitioner’s instructions.

What is the recommended frequency of the dose?

Tissues Salts can be taken with frequency over a period of time with no worry of an aggravation.

There is no simple, "correct dosage" for Tissue Salts, because the amount you will need to take will reflect the type and severity of your symptoms.

Severe:

  • Every 1/2 to 1 hour (e.g. high fever, bad pain)
  • Tissue Salts may even be repeated every ten or fifteen minutes

Moderate:

  • Every 2 to 3 hours (e.g. bearable pain, bad cough)

Mild:

  • Every 4 to 6 hours (e.g. able to carry on working)

Tonic:

  • Once relief is obtained, reduce the dosage to 3–4 times daily (e.g. tiredness after flu or osteoporosis) or until the condition has disappeared
  • Take a break of a week or so and repeat if need be
  • Healing after a bad fracture can take months with Tissue Salts helping along the way

Is there a specific time to take Tissue Salts?

Tissue Salts may be taken freely at any time. If you discover a time for taking and frequency of dose best suited to your needs, this may be adopted.

How long until I see results?

People can differ widely in their "response times" to Tissue Salts - because of individual makeup, the nature and severity (acute or chronic) of the ailment, symptoms, lifestyle, diet, etc.

  • Some individuals may experience symptomatic relief within hours or days
  • While others can take up to 6 weeks before an effect is felt
  • Often, a gradual improvement is felt over time

When you start using Tissue Salts and there are relative deficiencies or the body’s cleansing systems are overloaded with toxic materials there may be initial minor reactions from some of them.

If such an experience occurs, do not stop taking them, just reduce your dosage and continue. This is generally a sign that the body really needs the Tissue Salt minerals for balancing the system.

Remember, detoxing is normal when the body is cleansing itself. So if symptoms occur, don’t stop; just decrease the dose then slowly return to suggested dose or contact practitioner for help.

Internal absorption methods are:

  • Dissolve directly in the mouth
  • For babies and smaller children or the elderly
  • For immediate relief - Hot 8 method
  • “On the go” water bottle method
  • For diabetics or Lactose Intolerance - Water filtration method

It is important that the Tissue Salts are assimilated by the oral mucosa, directly into the blood stream.

Therefore you should let them dissolve in the mouth. The lactose/mannitol of the powder/tablets dissolves quite fast and it tastes a little sweet. Most people, especially kids, like the mild and sweet taste of the tablets.

It is best to drink one glass of fresh water after taking Tissue Salts, so that the body has enough water to be able to detoxify.

Dissolve directly in the mouth

  • Simply place each tablet under your tongue and allow it to dissolve

For babies and smaller children or the elderly

The powders are ideal for babies as they can be:

  • Applied directly onto the gums
  • Mixed in a little breast milk /water on a spoon or added to milk
  • Dissolve 4 tablets in +- 100 ml of in a little warm water and stir

This makes it easy to repeat doses. You can take a teaspoon at a time as a dose or just sip according to the severity of the symptoms which will determine the frequency.

For immediate relief - Hot 8 method

  • Dissolve the Tissue Salts (8 tablets or 1 tsp powder) in a cup of 200ml warm water
  • Sip every 5-15 minutes depending on the severity of the symptoms

This method is very good for the cramping, spasmodic pains e.g. period pains.

“On the go” water bottle method

  • Dissolve the Tissue Salts(16-20 tablets / 2-3 tsp powder) in +-750 ml water  (for adults)
  • Sip from the glass/bottle every 5-15 minutes

This is a great way to take your daily dose of Tissue Salts and to keep your body hydrated.

Make up your own ‘Power Mix” - equal parts of No.2 Calc Phos, No.4 Ferr Phos, No.6 Kali Phos, No.8 Mag Phos, No.9 Nat Mur

  • For physical and mental stress - to boost your energy throughout the day
  • For sports enthusiasts this mix/method helps to prevent cramps and lactic acid build up in the body

For Diabetics or Lactose Intolerance - Water filtration method

  • Dissolve the recommended daily dosage of tablets or powder in a glass container with 500ml filtered water
  • Leave to stand for roughly half an hour without stirring so that the lactose sediment can settle and the Tissue Salts can dissolve
  • Then pour the liquid carefully through a coffee filter to strain the lactose sediment
  • Sip the filtrate throughout the day

Remember to keep the liquid in the mouth for a few seconds to allow absorption through the mucous membrane before swallowing.

Externally - skin absorption methods:

  • Dry application
  • Hand and foot bath
  • Making a poultice
  • Making Tissue Salt cream
  • Making a Cream-Compress

Tissue salts can be used externally as balm, ointments, cream, gel, bath or compress.

These are purely supplementary measures and should always be accompanied by internal treatment and similar remedies. For instance, when treating insect bites with an outward application of Nat Mur, this tissue salt should also be given internally.

Dry application

  • Crush a few tablets and apply the powder applied direct to the affected part. This is the usual method of dealing with cuts and abrasions (Ferr Phos), after the injured part has been cleansed

Hand and foot bath

  • Prepare a container with adequate water for the area that will be soaked
  • Add the powder to water that is cooler than the body temperature for better absorption
  • Allow the area to soak for 10 minutes and then discard the water for animal or plant usage
  • Powder dosages for varied means of treatments via skin absorption
  • Hand bath 1-1½ teaspoons of the recommended Tissue Salt
  • Foot bath1-2    teaspoons of the recommended Tissue Salt
  • Full bath2-4    teaspoons of the recommended Tissue Salt

Making a poultice

You can also use the tissue salts as a tablet mash, if you don't want to use a cream on the skin.

  • Dissolve 3 or more tablets of your chosen Tissue salt with a a few drops of water) to make a 'tablet mash'
  • Apply the tablet mash on the skin area that needs treatment
  • You can fix the mash with a compress and/or a dressing (cling wrap) to keep the area moist and enable the skin to absorb the minerals
  • Small areas (i.e. insect bites) can be left without dressing
  • Leave the mash for several hours or overnight
  • Remove the mash and wash the skin until the mash is washed away
  • You can repeat this treatment if it is needed

Making Tissue Salt cream

  • Dissolve 20 tabs with a tiny bit of warm water
  • Take about 50ml of natural cream
  • Mix the powder/tablet mash with the cream
  • Apply the creams several times a day on the area that needs treatment
  • If the treated area allows it, you can give a little massage while applying the cream

If several ointments seem suitable, one can apply them alternately. Use one cream at one time and use the other cream the next time.

Making a Cream-Compress

  • You can also use a cream of the cell salts as a compress
  • The use of a compress is a rather intense method of use
  • Put some cream on a clean cotton cloth
  • Put the cloth with the cream on the area which needs treatment
  • Wrap the cloth with a dressing to fix it
  • Leave the compress for several hours or overnight
  • Remove the compress and rub the rest of the cream softly, until it is assimilated by the skin
  • You can repeat this treatment if it is needed
  • Store in a dry place
  • Below 25 degrees Celsius
  • Away from direct sunlight, heat and strong aromas
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Powders can be decanted into a glass container and labelled
  • Use only as directed. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare professional
  • Do not self-prescribe for chronic complaints. It is always advisable to seek professional advice for long standing complaints
  • Always keep your practitioner informed of your planned changes and do not just stop prescribed medications
  • The only remedy for caution is Tissue Salt No.12 Silica

People with implants or other foreign objects in their body to use Tissue Salts No. 12 Silica under medical supervision as it is known to eliminate foreign objects from the body in large amounts (www.natura.co.za and www.pharmanatura.co.za/homeo-force/homeoforce-simplex-tissue-salts/)
